Week 33!

49 days  (at the most) and counting down! Check out the counter on the right side of the blog.
Well this week Baby G. is the size of  Durian! I have no idea what a Durian is but here is what one looks like.
According to Wikipedia: The Durian is widely known and revered in southeast Asia as the "king of fruits", the durian is distinctive for its large size, unique odor, and formidable thorn-covered husk
Baby G. weighs about 4 pounds and is about 17 inches long, and is taking up a lot of space.  We have a growth ultrasound on September 24th and we will get a better estimate of his weight then.
  • He's keeping his eyes open while awake.
  • He's also starting to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing.
  • His bones are hardening.
  • And he going through more major brain development
Coming home outfit- I have finally decided. Well.. kind of.... I have 3 in different sizes just to be sure that I have options. Yes, I know I am crazy! You'll have to wait and see which one he comes home in!
The Weather- Finally it is really cooling off here and we have only had highs in the mid eighties, but thankfully with low humidity.  Yeah! I made it threw a record high summer while pregnant.
The Beatles- Baby G. is a fan of the White Album. Jef sings Rocky Raccoon to him by the Beatles and Baby G. goes nuts.
Nesting- My wonderful husband installed new shelves and helped me to re-organize my closet.
Bump Report -Here are a couple of pictures at 33 weeks  and some comparison pictures. Looking back now it is so funny that I thought I was HUGE at 12 weeks, then at 20 weeks I was sure everyone could tell I was pregnant!

Cravings -   Grilled cheese sandwiches. Figs- fig preserves, fig newtons, dried figs. Interestingly enough I can't stand fresh figs!  Grilled cheese sandwiches with fig preserves! I had brunch at my friend Sherry's home and she served these fig preserves and now I am hooked! Ohh and lemon curd. I can't get enough!

Aversions-   None really. I am just not really that hungry anymore.
Looking forward to- My baby shower on September 15th and spending time with friends and family.
To Do List- Pack hospital bag, and buy toys for Duncan so he won't be jealous. We finally found a pediatrician!
Things I am looking forward to after Baby G. gets here-
A nice raw, unpasteurized stinky cheese plate and wine!
Not worrying about eating something that is on the foods to avoid while pregnant list.
Drinking as much coffee as I want.
The end of heartburn and my love affair with Tums.
Getting rid of my maternity clothes and wearing my regular clothes with zippers!
Spending the holidays with the baby!
Duncan's reaction when we come home with a Baby!
