Happy 4th of July!

    Week 23!

Baby is the size of  a large grapefruit!
At about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces, baby's not just getting bigger, he's getting even cuter.
  • His face is fully formed now -- he just needs a little extra fat to fill it out.
  • He's listening to your voice and your heartbeat -- and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking

Here are some pictures from our latest ultrasound!

Keeping Cool-  This is how Duncan and I are keeping cool in this 100+ degree weather!

Embrace the Bump!

Public Recognition- Two random people were able to recognize that I was pregnant this week! I guess I am finally really popping!

Secret Vietnamese Tips- I went to my manicurist Ling this week that 'let me in' on some Vietnamese secretes/customs. I thought I would share them:

Do not ingest anything cold for a month after giving birth- no ice cream no cold beverages or anything icy- suppose to restore your energy balance.
No fruit for 1 month especially citrus! According to her this restores your pelvic muscles. She stated that in her country women don't experience pelvic issues due to this ancient practice.

Year of the Dragon-Ling was very excited and told me having a boy during the year of the dragon is considered supreme good luck! By the way Jef was born during the year of the Dragon also!

Cravings- cherries, raspberries, Pirate's Booty, hummus and cheese sandwiches,  baby carrots, bagels & almond butter.
Aversions-  Random! Still no sweets ;(  But on the plus side no real morning sickness yeah!!!
Energy- Pretty good considering the temperatures.
Looking forward to:  Being able to eat and drink anything I want! Things I miss and am looking forward to after Baby G gets here: Unpasteurized cheese, unpasteurized fresh juice, wine and lox. I saw this sandwich today at the bagel store and I had me drooling.

It is a California roll inspired bagel sandwich! Lox, wasabi cream cheese, avocado, and cucumber!
Yum!!! I have one reserved for November 2nd!

Baby Drool- How cute are these!!
