Week 29! Next week the big 3-0.
- Well this week Baby G. is the size of a butternut squash
His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain – which is busy developing billions of neurons. Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in Baby G's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that his nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester. This probably explain why I am ravenous all the time! (source Bump)
Nesting-I continue to organize and redecorate but at a slower pace as everything is pretty much done already.
Baby G.- Several weeks ago Jef and I read an article that reported if you read the same story to the baby every day, after he is born he will recognize it and be comforted by it. Well, Jef took this to heart and has been faithfully reading and singing Old McDonald to Baby G. every night. And much to my surprise, when he does Baby G. is now beginning to kick and wiggle furiously. Jef says he is dancing. I say he may be trying to cover his ears.
I found this recently on Amazon. I can't believe they still make it. I am definitely getting one for Baby G. It was one of my favorite toys and I remember playing 'Farm' with my brother for hours. Funny enough, growing up in Queens, N.Y. we had no exposure to any farm animals. We did however, have the city bus Q-44 that stopped right in front of our apartment complex. The Q-44's final stop was the Bronx Zoo. We must have gone hundreds of times. Back then they used to let you ride the camels, and feed the elephants. When I moved to North Carolina I was fascinated to see foxes, possums, turkey vulture, raccoons and beavers roaming free, as I had only seen these before at the zoo. And yes Jef, I now know that Roadrunners are real and not just a cartoon creation!
