7 Months!

7 Months-We want the baby to cook as long as possible but technically he will be full term in just 8 weeks and theoretically could be born then just fine. This freaks me out just a little.
  Week 28!
  • Well this week Baby G. is the size of  an eggplant, which is probably my favorite vegetable and Jef's kryptonite. He's starting to develop more fat, so his wrinkly skin will start to get smoother.

  • He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world. (source Bump)
Third Trimester- So far I can describe the third trimester as a state of exhaustion punctuated by frenetic bouts of energetic nesting. Case in point, after organizing all of Baby G.'s things I have gone on to rearrange all of my closets and then redecorated the master bedroom. I am now starting on the guest room, which is going to double as my office.
Baby G.- Has developed an attitude lately. He kicks the dog and cat whenever they get close to my belly. The cat and dog both jump up and leave immediately. It cracks me up.
Out of the Mouths of Babes- My 4year old client asked me yesterday, 'Why is your belly so big?' I told him it was because I ate too many marshmallows and he looked down at his bag of marshmallows with a very wide-eyed concerned look.  These are the things that make me love my job! And keeps me in business, the poor kid will probably develop a marshmallow phobia and require many years of therapy.
Bump Report -Here is the latest picture at 28 weeks exactly:
Nursery & Baby Gear-  The Moby Wrap- I purchased this Moby wrap, which I plan to use to keep Baby G close and comfy. It is basically a very long soft piece of cotton material that you use to wrap and wear your baby in several different ways. People either love or hate because there is a learning curve to learn how to use it. I love it! Probably because I was able to master the basic wrap almost immediately. I keep practicing the different wraps and have mastered a few. As you can see from the pictures, Duncan is very unhappy that his dog toy is the 'baby'.

As you can see by the look on Duncan's face, he is saying 'Stop wrapping up my toy!!' and the cat is feigning disdain.
To Do List- We need to finalize choosing his pediatrician. The one we had picked out is no longer accepting new patients. SO back to square one! Still waiting on the baby furniture to be delivered.
Cravings -  White beans, Peanut Butter Pows with strawberries, eggplant, seltzer water and hummus. Not all together! Ohh and eggs. Before I got pregnant I only ate egg whites. I probably had not had an egg yolk in several years. Well that has certainly changed. I eat an egg almost every other day.
Aversions-  I am not so into cheese lately, which is surprising since I could not stop eating it before! Remember this from week 14?

Looking Forward To- Everything!
